Q:

Thoughts on Christopher Paolini?

I remember reading Eragon back in Grade 7 and really enjoying it. Sure, the first sentence was about as cliché as it gets, some variation of “It was a dark and stormy night,” but when I found out Christopher Paolini started writing Eragon at just thirteen, I was shocked. After doing some research, I learned that he was actually quite a renowned teen author. I really enjoyed The Inheritance Cycle, though I know plenty of people who consider it atrocious and unoriginal. As for his later works, like the Fractalverse series and his venture into sci-fi, I could never really get into them. The prose was great, but the plot felt stagnant to me, too focused on “good writing” rather than a “good story.” Just my thoughts, though.
