Q:

Hyperion

Hyperion

The book has one over arching narative of six pilgrims telling their story of how they came to be on this journey together to the same location, but with each of their stories serving as a story within the story. They’re on their way to a time traveling metal monster who is said to grant the wish of one pilgrim and kill the rest. It feels like the most grounded interpretation of a far flung future because some planets are more “rural” so they use tech closer to modern day. It has elements of the familiar, but also has more fantastical elements, like time traveling, wish grating metal monsters, telaporters, AI, etc.
